Last Hurrah for Summer Fishing

Last Hurrah Charter Fishing has prime, weekdays available for August & September. We will either stay up north for Rockfishing or move the boat back South for Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. We spend a great deal for two, marina slips so we can be wherever the best fishing is!!
Let’s go catching!

Mixed Bag Fishing

There’s no targeting Rockfish (striped bass) from August 16th to August 31st this year.  We’ve been having a blast catching other species. There are plenty of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and White Perch around.  Starting  Tuesday, everything is fair game once again.  Mixed Bag Fishing!  We have a handful of open trips for the month of September.  Shoot us an email to book your multi-species Chesapeake Bay Fishing Trip!

Spanish Mackerel Time! Open August Dates.

The Last Hurrah is back in Tracy’s Landing (Deale) and we will be chasing Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish for the next two weeks.  This is a blast and the limits are much higher than most fish—-15 macs per man and 5 blues per man.  Let’s go fill the fish-box!  We have the following open dates:
August 18, 19, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29-am only,  30-am only, and 31.

We can take up to 6 customers but less is fine.  Let’s go catching!
Here’s some pics from last week’s live-lining…

Fall Fishing on The Chesapeake

We are well into October and it’s time to book up the dates from now until the season closes on December 15th.   Yesterday, we targeted Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish and caught 30 Blues and 20 Macs!  The Macs are definitely on the way out of the Bay, but the Blues should be around for a bit longer.  There are a lot of undersized Rockfish schooling up, but the Fall pattern with plentiful, fat “football” fish should bust loose soon.  There are still plenty of Spot fish around for live-bait fishing.  (Just my mate and I caught 225 the other day in 1 hour.)  For those of you that are soft:  NO, it’s not “too cold” out there in November and December!   The boat is fully enclosed and heated and it doesn’t even get that cold anymore around here.  The last few months are prime-time and can provide some of the best fishing of the year.  Get your Fall trip on the Chesapeake booked now!

The Last Hurrah Has Open Trips This Weekend and Throughout October

Summer is over and it’s now time for “Rocktober”!   It’s been an awesome year so far and the best is yet to come.  The Spanish Mackerel bite in September was nothing short of epic!  There are still Macks and Bluefish around and Rockfish of all sizes.  Contact us ASAP to book!

Whack-n-Stack Macs!

The Spanish Mackerel bite is nothing short of epic right now but it won’t last long.  Macs are extremely fast and once the water temps cool, they’re gone.  Forget about weekends!  Clueless crowds make everything exponentially more difficult on the weekends.  Take a day off of work, grab some friends, co-workers etc. and take a trip on The Last Hurrah.  We offer morning and afternoon departures, 7-days a week.  We can take a max of 6 customers, but less is fine.  (One group hires the boat and pricing is flat regardless of  party-size.)

We only had two gentlemen today, and they caught their rockfish limit, their 15 per/man spanish mackerel limit, 10 bluefish and 40 spot!

Available Dates Starting this Weekend!

The weather is cooling down but the fishing is still hot.  With schools back in session and vacations spent, bookings have slowed.   Last Hurrah Charters has prime dates open for charter as soon as this weekend.  We’ll fish everyday possible until the season ends on December 15th, so take advantage of the great fishing and smaller crowds on the Bay right now!  We run morning and afternoon trips for groups up to six.   Hurry while there are still Spanish Mackerel around to chase!
