Fall Fishing on The Chesapeake

We are well into October and it’s time to book up the dates from now until the season closes on December 15th.   Yesterday, we targeted Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish and caught 30 Blues and 20 Macs!  The Macs are definitely on the way out of the Bay, but the Blues should be around for a bit longer.  There are a lot of undersized Rockfish schooling up, but the Fall pattern with plentiful, fat “football” fish should bust loose soon.  There are still plenty of Spot fish around for live-bait fishing.  (Just my mate and I caught 225 the other day in 1 hour.)  For those of you that are soft:  NO, it’s not “too cold” out there in November and December!   The boat is fully enclosed and heated and it doesn’t even get that cold anymore around here.  The last few months are prime-time and can provide some of the best fishing of the year.  Get your Fall trip on the Chesapeake booked now!
