Fish Boxes are Filling Up & So Is the August Calendar

Fishing continues to be excellent with the afternoon bite being better lately.  Too many  people / boats on the Bay  is usually our biggest challenge.  Book a weekday and plan on leaving early.  We run two trips a day, seven days a week.   Here are some light-tackle limits from the past week…

Fishing is HOTTER than the Weather

Despite all of the fear-mongering from the worthless weathermen, Last Hurrah Charters ran twelve trips last week and smashed fish on every one.  Light-tackle Striped Bass (Rockfish) and White Perch fishing just doesn’t get any better.  200-400 fish days were the norm last week.  And as for the weather….it’s summer…it gets hot in the summer.  Pack some water and Gatorade and come fishing with us.  This bite is not gonna’ last forever, so contact us today to book your summer smashfest on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.  We are still running out of Annapolis and we have open early-August dates available.

Light Tackle Live-Lining is Off the Hook!

Fishing couldn’t be any better, so book your trip now!  We  are using live bait and light tackle to whack-n-stack Rockfish every day.  July 22, 23, 25 and 31st are currently open as are several August dates.  White Perch are also all-you-want most days.

7 Minute Bass

The light-tackle fishing for striped bass is off of the chain right now.  10 in 7 minutes this morning and a 150  White Perch afterwards.  Weekday trips are the best as there are far too many clueless people with boats on the Bay, and they make our job infinitely  more difficult.

We are still fishing out of Annapolis.  We offer two trips a day, seven days a week and we can take up to 6 customers.

Open July Morning Trips:  7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31.

Let’s Go Catchin’!!

Prime July Dates Open—Fishing Light Tackle Out of Annapolis

Fishing is phenomenal right now when ridiculous crowds aren’t ruining it.  Leaving early has been critical to success.   We will be fishing out of Annapolis for the month of July and we still have some prime dates available.  Get your trip booked now while the light-tackle action is hot!

Bite is Right, Tight & Outta’ Sight!

Light tackle summer Striper fishing couldn’t be any better right now!!  20-minute limits of good fish is common with 100+ White Perch afterwards.  We have prime July dates available.  Weekdays are best as huge weekend crowds can ruin the fishing.  Contact us a.s.a.p. to book your light tackle fishing trip.

Here are some pics from this week:

Summertime Fishing on the Chesapeake

Last Hurrah Charters has prime June weekdays available.  (Forget about weekends—crowds ruin fishing.)    We offer two trips a day:  5:30 a.m. and noon/1:00 p.m. We are still running out of Tracy’s Landing/Deale but we will move the boat to Annapolis if necessary.

Regular Rockin’

The Trophy Season may have been a bust, but the Regular Rockfish Season is in full swing, and with the exception of 5/16, it has been phenomenal so far!   The limit is now TWO Rock per angler and they only have to be 19-inches.  We have been smashing quick limits twice a day all week.  The action is so fast and furious that sometimes, we can’t even get lures all the way deployed before a fish nails them.  We’ve even boxed some nice fish in the 32-34″ class.  Now all we need is:  YOU!!  We have lots of prime-time weekdays June that need booking.  Let’s go catchin’!

Hurrah Headed Home

It’s been a challenging summer season filled with weird weather, insane crowds and a Conowingo Dam disaster, but Last Hurrah Charter Fishing has still managed to boat Striped Bass (Rockfish) limits on 79 out of its last 81 trips!!  We pride ourselves on getting it done or breaking our backs trying.  After a three-month stay in Annapolis, The Last Hurrah is moving back down south to its primary marina at Herrington Harbour North in Tracy’s Landing (Deale).  We will be targeting Rockfish, bottom-fish and the Spanish Mackerel that are finally starting to make their way up the Bay.   During the next few weeks, we have:  August 29, 30, September 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9 available for charter.
