Hurrah Headed Home

It’s been a challenging summer season filled with weird weather, insane crowds and a Conowingo Dam disaster, but Last Hurrah Charter Fishing has still managed to boat Striped Bass (Rockfish) limits on 79 out of its last 81 trips!!  We pride ourselves on getting it done or breaking our backs trying.  After a three-month stay in Annapolis, The Last Hurrah is moving back down south to its primary marina at Herrington Harbour North in Tracy’s Landing (Deale).  We will be targeting Rockfish, bottom-fish and the Spanish Mackerel that are finally starting to make their way up the Bay.   During the next few weeks, we have:  August 29, 30, September 3, 4, 6, 7 and 9 available for charter.

Whites, Stripes, and Spots

White Perch, Striped Bass and Norfolk Spot are plentiful for those dialed-in.  Fishing is still good to excellent every day close to our summer port.  Crowds and ignorant boat operators are always the biggest challenge.  Weekdays are always better fishing.  Rockfish limits have been coming fast and the bottom-fishing is all-you-want most of the time.  August 27th through the 30th is available for charter.  Call us for a summertime “last hurrah!”

Live-Lining Fast Rock Limits and Bailing Perch

We are still fishing out of Annapolis and things couldn’t be any better.  We are catching fast Rockfish limits on every trip and loading coolers with all of the White Perch our customers can handle!  There’s still time to squeeze in a light-tackle summer trip and we have some open August dates.  Email us today to set up your summertime  “last hurrah”.

North vs. South…We Have the Bases Covered

It’s been a great summer so far with Rockfish limits on almost every trip.  We are still docked in Annapolis at the moment, and we have secured that marina until the end of August.  That said, we might be moving back to our Deale boat-slip any day now.
We will go wherever the best fishing is!  Bottom fishing is also good right now with plenty of medium to large White Perch, some smaller Spot and an occasional Catfish.   Currently, these are the remaining open dates for August charters:  15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 23rd, 24th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st.   Email or call today to book your Chesapeake Bay fishing trip!

Summer Stripers

Fishing continues to be good to excellent when ridiculously huge crowds aren’t scaring the fish to oblivion.  Weekends are a complete circus with ignorant boaters running through and even trolling through chum-slicks and chunk-lines.  Common sense and common courtesy do not exist out there, so we strongly recommend booking weekdays if at all possible.  Despite the challenges, Last Hurrah Charters has caught over 50 consecutive Rockfish limits and hopes to keep the streak alive.  Some days, the white perch fishing is very good. Other days. they are tough to find.  A few  Bluefish and Mackerel  have been spotted down the Bay, but they haven’t  arrived in numbers yet.  We currently have July 20, 22, 23, and 31 open for charter.  We also have several prime August dates available.  Here are some pics from the last few days….

Jumbos in July

Haven’t posted in a while…too busy fishing!  19 charters over the last 12 days to be exact.  Fishing is insane right now with fast limits of big fish up to 34 inches being common.  We have a few, prime dates left in July.  Shoot us an email and book while the bite is hot!

Summer Fishing on the Chesapeake at its Best

We’re currently fishing out of Annapolis and the bite is right! We are catching limits of nice Rockfish every trip and the action is usually very fast. On most trips, we are utilizing light, spinning rods to do the work. The biggest challenge is the crowds because most Chesapeake boat owners don’t seem to understand that motor-noise spooks fish! We recommend booking a weekday if at all possible. Here are some pics from the last week…

Phenomenal Light Tackle Fishing

We are enjoying some incredible, light-tackle fishing right now out of Annapolis.  The boat is currently docked in Back Creek.  Rockfish limits are coming fast and furious with a nice grade of  fish.  Enormous (and extremely ignorant) crowds try hard to ruin fishing on weekends, so weekdays are always recommended.
We have some prime July dates open.  Mornings depart at 5:30 and afternoons at noon or 1:00.

Open June Dates for Light Tackle Fishing Out of Annapolis

We are currently fishing out of Annapolis and smashing fish with light-tackle spinning rods.  We have:   June 18, 19-p.m., 20, 21, 22-p.m., 26, and 29 available for charter!  We offer full and half-day trips.   Book now while the action is phenomenal!

Let’s go catching!

Summer Light Tackle Fishing Out of Annapolis

The fish moved, so we did too!  The Last Hurrah is currently (and temporarily)  docked at:
7364 Edgewood Rd. Annapolis, MD 21403.   Slip # 2.

We are now chumming with light-tackle spinning rods.  The Rockfishing has been stellar with fast limits of fish up to 34 inches every trip.  We still have some June dates left to fill.  Remember, weekdays are far better due to smaller crowds.
