The season kicks off:  May 1.  Up until 5/15 is “Trophy” Rockfish Season and the best shot at that monster of a lifetime.  If more action is the goal, resident Rock season runs May 16 –Dec. 10th.  We’ll be at Herrington Harbour North Marina in Tracy’s Landing  for all of May and the Fall.  We are happy to announce our new summertime marina is:  Atlantic Marina on the Magothy at:  487 New York Avenue  Pasadena, MD 21122 Slip #6.

May Dates Still Open. New Summertime Marina!

The season starts May 1.  The first 15 days is Trophy Rockfish Season and the best chance for that jumbo fish of a lifetime.  If more action is the goal, resident Rockfish season runs May 16 –Dec. 10th.  We’ll be at our usual, beautiful Herrington Harbour North Marina in Tracy’s Landing/Deale for all of May and the Fall.  From June through August, the Hurrah is going home!  We are happy to announce our new summertime marina is:  Atlantic Marina on the Magothy, (The Last Hurrah’s original dry-dock marina).  For the last five summers, we have moved the boat north to Annapolis to stay on the fish.  Last year, even that wasn’t far enough.  This new marina is only a few minutes longer by road from the south but will save considerable time on the water.  Plus, it is an excellent facility and a major upgrade over past summer dockages.

Booking May Trips!

Spring Trophy Rockfish Season (May 1st through May 15th) is right around the corner, and dates are going fast!  We run two trips a day, 7 days a week.   5:30 a.m. and Noon departures.  This is the best time of year for a chance at a fish of a lifetime.  If faster action is your preference, May 16th onward is typically great for schooled up, resident Rockfish.  We can take a max of 6 customers and everything is provided but your food and drinks.

Spring Trophy Rockfishing

The Maryland Striped Bass (Rockfish) Season kicks off May 1st and it will be here before we know it.  The Last Hurrah is currently undergoing some major upgrades including a brand new, Cummins 370 horsepower motor, new transmission, and spray-rails.  Captain Scott is hand-tying hundreds of his proven, trophy rock lures and preparing the rest of the tackle.

We are now booking May and June trips.  We can take a maximum of 6 customers.  We run two trips a day, 7 days a week.  5:30 a.m. and 12 noon departures.

Open This Sunday

Fishing is good right now.  We are still using light tackle and running out of Annapolis.  We have this Sunday open as well as some prime, September weekdays.  Let’s go catching!

 

Bottom-Fishing Bonanza—Open Dates this Week

Bottom-fishing is as good as it gets right now!  Hundreds of fat, White Perch and Spot each trip this week.  The Striped Bass Season Closure ends soon—we can target stripers again starting Sunday.

We have:   Friday, Saturday a.m., Sunday a.m./p.m. and Monday p.m. open.  
Let’s go fill some coolers!

 

North Bound to Nap Town

We will be moving the boat to Annapolis June 1 and fishing out of CSI Marina all summer in order to stay on the fish.  We’ve been boxing limits of nice Rockfish almost every trip.  We still have some prime weekdays open.  (Forget about weekends.  Crowds are absolutely stupid this year and weekends are a circus).  We’ll be running 2 trips every day, departing at 5:30 a.m. & Noon respectively.  We can take a max of 6 customers.  All summer trips will be a flat: $700 for the boat.  First Mate works for tips.

Fishing is off of the chain!  We have run two trips every day since the resident Rockfish Season start and have boxed limits every time but once.  We will be fishing out of Annapolis throughout the Summer.  We will be running two, 6-hour trips every day.  We can take a max of 6 customers but less is fine.  Pricing is flat and fixed for the boat.  Mornings depart 5:30 a.m., afternoons at noon.

Puttin’ Rocks in the Box

We are currently fishing out of Annapolis, MD in order to reach the fish.  Fishing just doesn’t get any better than it has been lately.  We have boxed Rockfish limits on 45 of our last 46 trips.  Lately, we have been catching as fast as we can get baits into the water.  We’re using light-tackle right now which is a blast and ideal for kids.   We only have a few days left open in July but August has lots of openings.  I don’t know when we will move the boat back down to Tracy’s Landing/Deale…depends on the fish.   A reminder—There is NO ROCKFISHING this year from August 16th to August 31st.  We will be targeting Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel and Bottom-Fish during that period.
The time to book is NOW!
