Temps are cooling but fishing is still hot
The last week provided comfortable temperatures and hungry rockfish. Most days, the rock limits came quickly and the bluefish were either scarce or in great supply. I received reports about acres of breaking bluefish eating everything in their path earlier this week. Each charter boat caught 50-80 of them. Unfortunately, we were off that day! We did catch a few large Spanish Mackerel recently but they are likely on their way south. Our schedule is starting to open up a bit and we are currently booking the rest of Sept. through Dec. 15th, which is the season finale.
