Fishing continues to be excellent with the afternoon bite being better lately. Too many people / boats on the Bay is usually our biggest challenge. Book a weekday and plan on leaving early. We run two trips a day, seven days a week. Here are some light-tackle limits from the past week…
Despite all of the fear-mongering from the worthless weathermen, Last Hurrah Charters ran twelve trips last week and smashed fish on every one. Light-tackle Striped Bass (Rockfish) and White Perch fishing just doesn’t get any better. 200-400 fish days were the norm last week. And as for the weather….it’s summer…it gets hot in the summer. Pack some water and Gatorade and come fishing with us. This bite is not gonna’ last forever, so contact us today to book your summer smashfest on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. We are still running out of Annapolis and we have open early-August dates available.
Fishing has been action-packed with lots of throwbacks caught and released in order to box keeper-limits. We are averaging 30 to 75 bites a trip! The limit is now 2 rockfish per angler at 19 inches and up. We have some prime-time June weekdays available .

Don’t be fooled by the weather—Spring is right around the corner and so is Trophy Rockfish Season on the Chesapeake Bay. Last Hurrah Charter Fishing LLC still has some prime dates available, but they are going fast. Keep in mind that there are SEVEN days in the week and Saturday & Sunday are the toughest ones to fish. It’s very over-crowded out there which spooks fish and makes maneuvering highly difficult. We strongly recommend booking a weekday if at all possible!
After May 15th, the Rockfish limit doubles and the size minimum drops. These last two weeks have been phenomenal fishing the last 4 or 5 seasons. Last Hurrah Charter Fishing LLC is still boxing Rockfish limits—-We’re now up to 103 for 105 trips this summer with the last 76 consecutive! Some days are tough with a lot of undersized throwbacks but ignorant crowds are always the worst challenge. Weekdays are always better fishing than weekends. The Last Hurrah has now boxed 57 Rockfish limits on its last 59 Charter Trips! Some days are tougher than others but we pride ourselves on catching, not just fishing…..and we are relentless in our quest. White Perch fishing has also been incredible recently.
