Chesapeake Bay Bounty

Weekday fishing is consistently good with limits of Striped Bass every trip, and some Perch and Bluefish mixed in as a bonus. Weekends are littered with clueless, inconsiderate boat-owners making success infinitely more difficult. Now, is the time to get your Chesapeake Bay fishing trip on the books! We are still fishing out of our Magothy River location, but we will move back south to Deale, MD within a month.
Families and dogs are always welcome on the Last Hurrah!

Last Hurrah for August

Summer is almost over and Last Hurrah Charter Fishing has prime, open weekdays. We are still running out of our northern marina on the Magothy River. We have been catching limits of Rockfish every trip with some catfish and eating-size white perch as a bonus. We will move the boat south to our Deale marina and start targeting mackerel and bluefish soon.
Come out and enjoy some summertime fishing on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.

Dog-Friendly Chesapeake Fishing Charters

Dog Days of Summer

The Maryland Striped Bass Season is back in and will remain so until December 10th. Some Bluefish are showing up as well, and Spanish Mackerel are on the way. Bottom-fishing for White Perch and Catfish has also been yielding good catches. Weekdays are the best bet since weekend crowds are insane. We offer morning and afternoon trips. We are still running out of our Pasadena marina located on the beautiful Magothy River. We can take a maximum of 6 customers, but less is fine.

Summer is almost over and Last Hurrah Charters still has some prime dates up for August and September. Our official spokespup, “Shelby”, wants to remind everyone that dogs are always welcome on the Hurrah!! We keep a water bowl and treats at the ready. Shelby doesn’t usually come on charter trips so don’t worry if your dog doesn’t play well with others.

Let’s go catching!

Open June Dates

Fishing is on FIRE and we are currently close to the bite.  Weekends are tough with thousands of clueless boaters spooking the fish. We strongly recommend weekdays.  We have been trolling limits of nice Rockfish each trip.  Here’s what we have open for June:  3, 5, 7, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 29, 30.

Fishing On FIRE —June Openings

Fishing is as good as it gets right now on resident rockfish. The limit is now 2 per customer 19″+ on charters and the action is fast and furious.  We are trolling up limits with several fish hooked up at once!

We are running out of Atlantic Marina on the Magothy at 487 New York Avenue Pasadena, MD 21122.  It’s close to the fish and very nice facility.

Let’s go catching!

Rockfish Season has Commenced!

The trophy season was a grind but the regular rockfish is off and running now.  The limit has doubled to two per angler and the size must be 19″+.  The action has been good thus far with limits each trip.

WEEKDAYS ARE FAR BETTER FISHING

Here is what we have open in June:
Morning Trips:  1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30
Afternoon Trips:  1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 13, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30.

Resident Rockfish Season Starts Monday!

Well, the 2022 Trophy Rockfish season was a disappointment, but the main event starts Monday—the regular/resident Rockfish Season.  The limit goes from 1 to 2 fish per angler, the size requirement drops to 19″, and the action should be much greater since we’ll be targeting schooling, resident fish versus solitary migrators.   We are already seeing signs that this should be a good year.  May 31st is our last open morning trip this month, but we have afternoon trips  (12:00–6:00) available as well as June and July dates.
WEEKDAYS ARE FAR BETTER DUE TO CROWDS!

Cancelation for this Saturday Morning; Booking Resident Rockfish Season

We are a little past halfway through “Trophy Rockfish Season.”  The fish have been enormous, but getting bites requires patience.  We just had a cancelation for this Saturday a.m. May 14th.  We run two trips every day 5:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.  We will be running out of Herrington Harbour North Marina in Tracy’s Landing/Deale, MD until the end of the month.  We’ll be moving the boat north to Atlantic Marina on the Magothy in Pasadena, MD in early June when the resident Rockfish push north.
Starting May 16th, the size requirement drops to 19 inches, the limit doubles to two per angler, and the action typically increases significantly.  May 14th and 31st are my only open morning trips for May but we have open weekday afternoons and plenty of June availability.
