Last Hurrah Wins 2nd Place in Emerald Society Tournament

On Thursday, May 5th, The Last Hurrah caught a limit of nice rockfish despite stained water and tough fishing and won 2nd Place  for the three heaviest combined fish in the 2011 Emerald Society Tournament!  The total weight for the 3 heaviest rockfish was over 63 pounds!

May 2nd Trip

Had one of my favorite groups out this morning.  They brought some rough weather (as usual 😉 and the fishing was rather challenging,  but we all persisted and grinded out a limit of rockfish by about 12:30 or so.   It was not easy by any means, but very rewarding and always fun with these guys!

May 1st Trip

Calm seas and good fishing this morning!  Despite multiple short-strikes we managed to box our limit of stripers by 9:15.  A good time was had by all……except the fish.

April 30th Trip

The Last Hurrah had another great trip this morning!  We had the pleasure of taking a new client from Timonium who could not have been any nicer!  He brought 5 teenagers who were more than willing to crank in big fish.  We caught our limit of nice stripers by 8:15 and the biggest was 46-inches and 35.5 pounds.   Thanks guys!  See you next trip.

This morning’s trip….6 by 7:00 (4/29/2011)

We finally had some nice weather this morning with light wind and calm seas.  I had a good friend of mine who is the owner of Diversified Siteworks   today.  This guy is always fun and today was no exception.  My mate and I had just deployed all 26 lines when a clip popped and we landed a fat, 42 incher.  That started off the trip perfectly.  We only had three guys and proceeded to catch our limit within a few minutes. We ended up catching another 3 fish while bringing in the rig.  6 nice fish by 7:00 with a great group of guys.  The ideal morning!

Last night’s trip…

Took the BGC boys out last night.  Managed to box our limit in just a few hours plus 3 more while picking up the rig.

Fishing is good right now!  I still have next Tuesday and Wednesday open for morning trips and several afternoon-departure slots open.    Contact a.s.a.p. to book!!

Weekly Report: 4/18-4/24

The fishing has been good overall with some days better than others.   Most trips are providing limits and the fish have been averaging 34-40 inches in size.  When the bite comes on, the action can be fast and furious, but when it stops you have to wait ’em out patiently.

I had some great groups over the weekend.  Despite fatigue and hangovers these guys had a lot of fun and connected with some nice fish!  Some came all the way from Switzerland!

Note:  some of the gentlemen were wearing very nice, formal coats so not all of the fish were held up for photos….

It’s On!!!

The 2011 Trophy Rockfish Season kicked off Saturday with some seriously nasty weather.  I had a great group and we braved the conditions for a few hours and connected with some nice fish.  The fish are here and hungry!   The Last Hurrah still has some open dates.  Call or email to book!

The Last Hurrah is Launched!

After countless hours of work, waxing, and a full-scale engine tune-up, the Last Hurrah was splashed yesterday and she’s ready to fish!!  She may be going into her ninth season, but she looks and runs like new!  She was pushing 21 kts. will full fuel tanks.

Look out, Fish!!
