Weekly Report / Season Wrap-Up 12/15

This last week became a little tougher as the Bay water temperatures dipped down to the low 40’s.  Saturday was the last day of the Maryland Rockfish season and we managed to hook 5 and box 3.  On Thursday, we caught our limit of six Overs after waiting the fish out for a while.

2012 was a great season!  The Last Hurrah gained some really nice clients and we look forward to seeing them again next year.  We limited out on Rockfish 74% of the time and caught at least a few fish on every single trip.  Thank you to everyone who came out and fished with us.  We appreciate your business and wish you HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

*** We are now offering Holiday Gift Certificates and booking Spring Trophy Trips!  ***

Weekly Report: 11/25-12/2

Fishing continues to improve.  Some really nice 30 – 40 pound fish were caught this weekend.
Last Hurrah has dates available from now until season close on 12/15.  Also Holiday GIFT CERTIFICATES for fishing charters are available upon request.

Weekly Report: 11/19-11/25

Fishing was okay this week with some days better than others.    The boats that fished caught some nice “overs” trolling the big rig in the deep.   Several 30+ pound Rockfish are being checked in.   Last Hurrah has openings from now till 12/15 and is already Spring 2013 trips!

Weekly Report: 11/12-11/18

Fishing was a little up and down this week but the grade was solid.  The fish are scattered so trolling is the way to go.  The resident stripers were all 20 inches and up and fattter than footballs.  There are also some monster migratory stripers around. Yesterday, we boxed 10  with the biggest  being 44-inches and topping the scale at 35 pounds.  (pic below).  LHCF still has availability for Fall fishing dates.  The season ends 12/15 so book your trip today!

Weekly Report: 11/5-11/11

Fishing was a bit up and down this week with some days being really good and others just mediocre.  The grade of fish was excellent across the board though.  The resident Rockfish were all fat as footballs and some monster migrator-Rock were checked in by some boats this week which pushed the 50-pound mark!  The Fall is starting to take shape and is only gonna’ get better.  There are still some Nov. / Dec. dates available.

Weekly Report: 10/29-11/4

Well, we all got very lucky with Sandy and hardly missed a beat on the fishing scene.  The bite was terrible for two days but busted wide open again.  Yesterday was GAME-ON with the fleet limiting out on residents and BIG, migratory Rockfish!  Jumbos up to 47-inches being are being caught on the troll.  It’s shaping up for a rock-solid Fall fishery.  There is good bait, cool water, lots of resident Rock and monster migrators rolling into our area of the Bay.  I still have some good dates in November and December so contact me a.s.a.p. to get out there and fish!   (And yes, the boat’s cabin is fully enclosed and equipped with heat. )

Weekly Report: 10/15-10/21

Hard to believe, but we are still LIVE-LINING for Rockfishing…..and crushing them!  20-30-minute Rockfish limits have been the norm.   We are also catching BIG White Perch.   Get ’em while the gettin’ is good!

We have some openings this Thursday—Sunday.   Call or email for reservations!

Here’s a pic from this week…..

Weekly Report: 10/8-10/14

Rockfishing continues to be off the chain!  The Spot (live bait) are still around, which is unusual, and the action has been lightening fast!  There are still some good-sized Wite Perch and Bluefish around as well.   Now is the perfect time to squeeze one last light-tackle live-lining trip in for the season.

I have openings all weekend.    Come on folks,  let’s book ’em, hook ’em and cook ’em!!!!

Weekly Report: 10/1-10/7

I went out of town for a few days of duck hunting, but the Fishing was ON FIRE all week while I was gone!  Surprisingly, some of the best live-bait fishing of the year and the Rockfish limits were fast and furious for most of the fleet!  The live-lining won’t be going on like this for long—if you want to squeeze a light-tackle trip in,  NOW is the time!  Fall trolling trips for the Big Migratory Rockfish are filling up too.  Contact me today to get on the books.

Weekly Report: 9/17-9/23

Live-Lining limits of Rockfish continues to be good with some days better than others.  The weekends are seeing a lot of pressure from inconsiderate boats cutting through fishing spreads and spooking the fish for everyone!   Bluefish are thick and often a menace when live-bait fishing.  The Spot fishing is getting a little slower so the live-lining method likely won’t be happening for much longer.  The Fall looks very promising and dates are filling up fast.   Here’s a pic from yesterday’s limit….
