Chum & Get It

It was another great week for Rockfishing in the middle Chesapeake Bay.  There are a lot of undersized fish around, but we caught limits of keepers on every trip this week along with some medium-large Bluefish and a few rogue Spanish Mackerel.  We are still utilizing light spinning tackle and chumming techniques.  If you enjoy light-tackle […]

Temps are cooling but fishing is still hot

The last week provided comfortable temperatures and hungry rockfish.  Most days, the rock limits came quickly and the bluefish were either scarce or in great supply.  I received reports  about acres of breaking bluefish eating everything in their path earlier this week.  Each charter boat caught 50-80 of them.   Unfortunately, we were off that day!  We did catch a few large […]

Last Hurrah for Live-Lining

Fishing continued to be very good this week with consistent Rockfish limits and some hit or miss Blue-fishing.  Some days, we boxed 20-30 Bluefish in short order and others it was tough to find a few.   The live bait is becoming more and more challenging to procure and we will likely only be live-lining for a few […]

Come get some!

Live-lining for Rockfish with light-tackle is still in full-swing with Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel being boxed on the troll.  Fishing is still red-hot most days with crowds of boats being the biggest hindrance.  Ignorant boat-handlers with no clue, no common-sense, and no courtesy tend to run right on top of deployed lines.  Loud motors, prop-wash, and […]

Rockfish, Bluefish & Spanish Mackerel

Light-tackle Rockfishing continues to be excellent with most limits coming in minutes.   After boxing our stripers, we have been trolling for Blues and have even caught a few Spanish Mackerel.  Fishing is awesome but it won’t last forever.  Contact Capt. Scott today to book a trip before live-lining is over.

Rock Shock

Rockfishing is so good right now that first-time customers are amazed at how fast we are catching them.  On most trips, we catch 10-15 stripers within a few minutes of setting the anchor.  Fast and furious is just the way we like it.  If you are thinking about taking advantage of the Chesapeake’s bounty this […]

Fishing Report 7.14.2014

Light-tackle rockfishing is still white hot with a few over sized fish mixed in on each trip.   The live bait is easily available and the rockfish action has been fast and furious.  This weekend yielded limits with rock up to 36-inches caught on light spinning tackle.

Live-Lining is Outstanding. Book Now!

We continue to catch quality Rockfish on light-tackle this week as the live-lining bite remains as good as it gets.  Fast limits and a nice grade of fish have been commonplace.  Bait-fishing has improved, as well as the white-perch fishing.  If you’re a light-tackle enthusiast, now is the time to book a charter with Last Hurrah Charter […]

Light Tackle, Heavy Fish!

We have boxed 13 quick Rockfish limits in a row now with the average size being way above normal for the month of June.  Most days, we are catching multiple fish 30-37 inches on light spinning rods.  It doesn’t get more fun than that.  We are currently booking trips for this week.   Here’s some pics from […]

Live-Lining Report

Catching the live bait has been challenging to say the least.  However, once procured, these spotted gems have been crushing big rockfish in fast fashion.  The live-line bite couldn’t possibly be any hotter with limits coming over the rail in minutes and fish up to 37-inches on light tackle!  It just doesn’t get any better.  Now is the time to […]
