2016 Trophy Rockfishing Season on the Chesapeake Bay

The 2016 Maryland Striped Bass Season is right around the corner and we are gearing up for another fish-filled spring on the Chesapeake Bay.   Last Hurrah Charters only has a handful of prime dates left to fill.  We can take a max of 6 passengers and we collect a deposit to reserve each trip.

70% to 90% of the entire Atlantic migratory stock of striped bass spawn in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.  As these large, migrators travel up and down they Bay to complete their spawning ritual, savvy anglers have the opportunity to land the fish of a lifetime.  20-30 pound fish are common and 40-50 pounders come over the rail on occasion.  We troll 26-30 rods at a time targeting singles and small packs of stripers since they are not schooled up like they are at other times of the year.   Quality equipment, proper rigging, and experienced boat handling make the difference when fooling these clever giants.

Last Hurrah charters is working hard every day painting, cleaning, waxing, repairing and rigging to ensure that everything is perfect on board and that your spring trophy rockfish experience is one to remember fondly for a lifetime.   Ladies and children are welcome so bring the family,  co-workers, buddies, neighbors or clients and get in on the action.

Give us a call or email soon while there’s still availability and book your day on the Bay.
