Weekly Report: 9/5-9/11

The waters are murky and full of debris, but the fishing is still very good!   Rockfishing was  productive  this weekend for live-liners who found enough Spot.  Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel  bit well on the troll.

Cooler weather and breaking Rockfish are right around the corner.  Contact me a.s.a.p.  to book a fall date!  Late October through Dec. 15th is usually awesome!

Weekly Report: 8/29-9/4

Well, an earthquake, tornados, and a hurricane all in the same week was pretty nuts and cost us some trips.    It was worthwhile hauling the boat for a few days though.  It gave me a chance to replace some zincs and touch-up some bottom paint.

This week provided us with better weather and great fishing!  The live-lining is still red hot and we crushed the rockfish as recently as yesterday.  The hardest part was catching enough live bait.  The Spot-fishing is becoming more challenging but the Rockfish remain cooperative.  Soon we will switch over to trolling and jigging exclusively.  There were some more Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel caught this week as well.

Now is the time to book your FALL FISHING TRIP aboard The Last Hurrah.  October through mid-December can provide some of the best fising of the year with acres of resident rockfish breaking on the surface and monster ocean-run fish migrating back up the Bay.  Call or email soon before the calendar is full!!

(Sorry, no photos this week)

Weekly Report: 8/15-8/21

Fishing continued to be wide-open this week.  The toughest part some days was catching the live-bait.  We trolled up some nice Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish and caught fast limits of Rockfish live-lining.  On Wednesday, we caught 15 Rockfish in 15 minutes!  The Spot are getting tougher to find, so book your live-lining trips now before the party is over.

Weekly Report: 8/8-8/14

Another week of awesome fishing.   Live-lining for Rockfish continued to be off the charts this week, with catches and limits coming extremely fast.  On Friday, I had a friend and his family on the boat.  They caught 60 or so Spot in short-order and then we went Rockfishing.  Before my anchor was tight on the first and only drop, we had two baits getting eaten.  Within 20 minutes, we had boated 13 nice Rockfish!   Next, we went White-Perch fishing until the kids arms hurt from reeling in fish.

The Last Hurrah has now limited-out on Rockfish catches on 18 of its most recent 19 trips!!
This bite isn’t going to last forever—-call or email me soon to take advantage and book a date .

The bite continued to be  hot again this week.    The LAST HURRAH  has now boated rockfish-limits on 17 of its most recent 18 trips!  We were filling the box fast this week often catching our 13 fish in under 20 minutes!  Great fun on light-spining tackle.  Here are a few pics from the week including my cousin, Jessica, and her all-star female fishing crew.   These ladies put the SMACK DOWN on some rockfish Friday, and then caught white perch like they were going out of style.  August dates are going fast—call or email to book.  Also, don’t forget to “Like” us on Facebook.

The fishing continues to be outstanding!  The bait-fishing can be tough at times, but the rockfish have been cooperating  and the limits have come fast.  Live-lining  is a very fun way to catch rockfish on light tackle and my clients have been having  a blast.  The Last Hurrah has now boated rock limits on 15 of  its last 16 trips!  I still have the weekend open—call or email to book!

Weekly Report: 7/18-7/24

Fishing just doesn’t get any better than it is right now!!!!   The weather is hot, but the bite is hotter.  All week long, we have been crushing rockfish in a fast and furious fashion .  Catching full limits in 15-30 minutes has been commonplace lately.   This Sunday is my only open July date.

Weekly Report: 7/11-7/17

Another ridiculously great week of fishing!   Live-lining for good sized rockfish just doesn’t get any better!  Some of the fastest limits I’ve ever caught.    On Saturday, I had a super nice group of folks out fishing.  After one move, we found a good supply of spot.  We boated about 70 and headed for the rockfishing grounds.  Before my anchorline was tight, we had 2 baits getting bit and we caught our limit of 11 rockfish in about 15 minutes, with the biggest being 32-inches.    Here’s a pic of a U.S. soldier holding dinner.

Weekly Report: 7/4-7/10

Summer fishing really doesn’t get any better!   This week I have trolled, live-lined, and bottom-fished and caught limits of big fish, fast each time!   On Wednesday. I trolled Rockfish up to 31-inches.  On Saturday, I mated for a good friend and fellow Deale Captain.  We caught 22 rockfish in less than 2 hours.  Yesterday, I had the boys from MPT out and we boated a limit of rockfish in a few hours.  It was a beautiful grade of fish:  32-incher, 31.5, 28, 26 etc.  They also caught a few hundred huge white perch in the 10-13 inch class.  We kept about 20 for them to eat and released the rest unharmed.  I still have some July dates.  Contact me ASAP to book!!

Here are some photos of the week’s catches:

Weekly Report: 6/27-7/3

Great groups, great weather and great fishing made this week a pleasure!  The Last Hurrah fished several times this week and caught quick rockfish-limits on every trip, except Thurs. afternoon when we were 2 short.  The winds were light and the seas calm each day as we live-lined and trolled rockfish up to 26 inches.  The bottom-fishing was also solid and we caught several hundred spot and white perch during the week.
