/in Chesapeake Bay Fishing Report/by Captain ScottWell, this season has been all about really nice customers and good fishing aboard The Last Hurrah….this afternoon was no exception! We left the dock around 1:30 this afternoon with 4 guys and 2 gals eager to catch some fish. Within about an hour of fishing, we had boated their limit of 12 rockfish, plus lucky #13 for the boat. I think the ladies surprised themselves at how well they battled their fish. They did a great job! The fish were all legal size with a few in the 25 – 27 inch range. The seas were flat calm and the weather was perfect. Great afternoon on the Chesapeake Bay!

/in Chesapeake Bay Fishing Report/by Captain ScottHad Bill and MPT boys out this a.m. Tough fishing at first and we endured a few hours without a bite. I kept searching and eventually we put the smack-down on some nice stripers! Within an hour, we boated our limit of 6 overs, lost one and then caught and released 5 more overs trying to bring in the rig. We also caught some resident fish. Good to see those smaller fish as the limit changes Monday.

/in Chesapeake Bay Fishing Report/by Captain ScottSaturday was my birthday and the fish-gods gave me calm weather and nice rockfish limits for both my morning and afternoon charter trips! The water was stained and the bite was tough, but we managed to limit-out on both trips right at the end. My mate, Capt. Kenny, calls it “Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat” 😉 The fish were a good grade too….up to 42 inches. Great day.
The Hurrah has now caught limits on 8 of the last 9 trips! Here are some pics….
